Mental illness is becoming increasingly prevalent in today's society, particularly among young people. What can we do to support them in overcoming these issues?

Body shaming, eating disorders, depression, self-harm, drug abuse, anxiety, fake friendships, social media, family conflicts, heartbreaks, and many other challenges are just some of the issues that young people are facing. According to Charley Johnson, they are not alone in their struggles. She has realized that everyone has some form of problem they are grappling with, but most choose to keep it hidden. This realization led her to write a book about mental health in hopes of helping struggling teenagers relate to and learn about mental illness.

In this episode of The Power of Authority Spotlight, Michelle Prince welcomes Charley Johnson, author of Shine Light on Mental Fights, to discuss how she's helping young people overcome mental issues. Charley shares her journey of writing a book about mental health, the process of writing the book through poetry, and advice for young girls.
